Ethiopia Sidamo Shakisso Denbi Uddo Washed

This region and its growers are people named Guji Oromo, coming from Oromia woreda in southern Ethiopia. Denbi Uddo is a sub region of Shakisso. Coffee farming is an integral part of the culture in the highland areas. This region and its zones develop unique and exquisite tasting coffees.

Cherries are delivered from approximately 850 smallholder farmers in the Guji area. This coffee originates from a privately owned washing station managed by Faysel Abdosh and it started its processing in 2014. The coffee is Grade 1 which signifies meticulous selecting and grading during the processing. The washing station has the processing capacity of producing 8 containers of washed coffees and 7 containers of natural processed coffees. Coffee lot separation is based on 150 bags of parchment which equals to 100 bags of greens. This coffee is wet fermented for approximately 36 hours before being dried on raised African beds for 10-12 days.

Arranged by our friends Faysel Abdosh and Adham Yonis with his dedicated team also running Project Direct which is the social program directly helping the farming community. Project Direct enabled opening of a school in July, 2016 for the people of Guji. Buying this coffee, you make a significant contribution to the people of Guji.
